Ghost Tour Application
This app uses Google Maps API and coded with Java.
Developed a location-based Android application using Android Studio, integrating Google Maps API to create a gamified user experience inspired by Pokémon Go mechanics. Designed interactive ghost pins mapped to real-world haunted locations across Savannah; users could explore the city with GPS tracking to trigger unique content when within a defined radius. Implemented proximity detection to activate storytelling modals and interactive features, including dynamic content rendering, quiz prompts, and user actions (e.g., ghost capture). Created a seamless UI/UX flow allowing users to navigate between the map, story modals, quiz components, and gamified capture mechanics, enhancing user engagement and retention. Built a stateful system where previously visited (captured) ghosts were removed from the map, showcasing skills in event-driven programming and state management. Collaborated with a local enthusiast community to tailor app features and content, demonstrating user-focused design, community integration, and agile iteration based on feedback.
